customer-managedofficial notice · 2026-10-21

Summary

Official status post (Oct 21): "If you manage your VPS or dedicated server, please update PHP now to the fixed version." On VPS and dedicated servers the customer runs PHP. For shared and reseller hosting see the Namecheap Shared Hosting entry.

Customer action:

If PHP runs on a VPS or dedicated server, ask your administrator or agency to update to 8.2.35 / 8.3.36 / 8.4.27 / 8.5.12 or later. PHP 8.1 and older have no upstream fix; move to a supported branch.

Namecheap's network carries shared and reseller hosting, VPS and dedicated servers. On VPS and dedicated servers the customer runs PHP. The default registrar DNS (dnsN.registrar-servers.com) is used whatever hosts the site; shared hosting is recognised by its own name servers (dnsN.namecheaphosting.com).
